School Code & Conduct

To maintain the discipline, dignity, and high standards of Nilgiri Matriculation School, all students are expected to abide by the following guidelines:

  • Personal Grooming and Dress Code

Students must come to school neat and well-groomed, wearing the prescribed school uniform. Bringing mobile phones, calculators, iPods, electronic games, watches with calculators, or wearing jewellery is strictly prohibited. Any such items found will be confiscated.

  • Punctuality and Discipline

Habitual late coming, irregular attendance, unjustified absences, disobedience, or misconduct will be taken seriously, as these behaviors are detrimental to the discipline and learning environment of the school.

  • Classroom Conduct

Students must seek permission before leaving the classroom and maintain silence at all times to ensure a focused learning atmosphere.

  • Cleanliness and Care for School Property

Students must take responsibility for keeping the school environment clean. Writing on desks, walls, or defacing school property is strictly prohibited.

  • Use of Dustbins

Littering is strictly not allowed. All waste materials like papers, bottles, or cans must be disposed of only in designated dustbins.

  • Leaving the School Premises

No student is allowed to leave the school premises during working hours without written permission from the Principal and a valid Gate Pass. After school hours, all students are expected to return home promptly.

  • Language Policy

To improve communication skills, students are expected to converse only in English within the school campus.

  • Character and Conduct

Every student must strive to uphold the values and positive tone of the school through good behavior, respectful interactions, and responsible conduct at all times.

  • Examinations and Tests

Absence during tests or examinations is not permitted. No re-tests will be conducted for students who miss assessments without valid and prior approval.

  • School Diary

Every student must carry the school diary daily. It serves as a vital communication tool between the school and home and should be maintained properly at all times.
